EXPLORING PAST OUR 5 SENSES

EXPLORING PAST OUR 5 SENSES

PART I

-Our 5 senses are like the tip of an iceberg. We seem to be conscious of 10% but the other 90% of our knowledge is submerged.-

As much as many people would like to admit that they know it all, we don’t! We are still learning bits and fragments about ourselves and our world as we move along this time and space reality. We are searching for answers to questions many of us don’t fully understand and without even realizing it, many of us have overlooked one of our largest and most precious commodities: Realizing who we wholly are past our five physical sense perceptions.

There is so much about this time and space reality that still doesn’t make complete sense and perhaps that’s why when we loose someone we Love, we are often left with a feeling of emptiness and confusion rather than wholeness and a sense of true knowingness. We find ourselves asking questions such as: Where did that person really go? Why can't we see where they went? And if this is really living, then why does death exist?

Wouldn’t real life be eternal or infinite? How can this be the whole truth of reality when there are still so many things in this reality that so many of us still can’t explain? Surely if we were all knowing and truly as 'intelligent' as we claim then we would know all of the answers to these questions and more!

Scientist have been claiming for the last decade that their discoveries about science and the nature of  the universe is holographic and more like fiction than science. To make matters even more interesting, I’ve been curiously piecing together some new senses or extraordinary sensory phenomenon (ESP) which has occurred on my own personal journey through life. Experiences which flew past learned logical intelligence and left me wondering why we were ignorantly taught to believe that we only had 5 senses.

This blog post in particular will be an ongoing discussion as I aim to go deeper into where, who, how and why such information was covered up and even burned right here in Spain, information which unfortunately cost so many well meaning people who knew these invaluable truths their very lives! However, humanity did not consciously desire to become dual, no one wants to be lost from their true nature of wholeness.

My first recollection of any extrasensory phenomenon occurred while I was still young girl. This incident was the first 'strange' or unknown event which I could consciously remember of and it happened so quickly and with so much intensity and that I was left feeling awestruck and completely dumb-founded by mysterious wonder.

One night, while absorbing the pages of Albert Einstein’s book: ‘Ideas and Opinions’, all of the words lifted off the pages and went into my mind all at once. There must have been hundreds of words on both of those pages, so you can only imagine how amazed and in shock I was when I realized what had just happened!

I immediately jumped up from reading and began screaming for my mother who of course like most loving mothers assured me that I was a genius. Her words were all fine and dandy and it did wonders for my ego but they still didn’t explain what had just happened.

What that phenomenon did do was leave me wondering why someone would be called a genius simply because something extraordinary and unexplainable happened to them? Had we become so comfortable with 'not knowing' that when one of us experienced a glimpse of broader truth they were labeled a genius? Wouldn’t it just make more sense if we could explain how and why the unexplainable happened?

After years of personal research and studying up on similar cases, I haven’t been able to find any information exactly similiar to what had happened to me that night while reading. You would think that with a search engine like Google which performs more  5,134,000,000 searches each day could at least find ONE result that would explain how I could read all of those words at once. But when it comes to finding out some of the greatest mysteries of life, Google doesn't list those.

What left me even more puzzled was that if I couldn’t find the answer to that mystery, then what else didn’t we know?

The most wonderous fragment of intriguing curiosity which remained with me more than the actual phenomenon itself, was the REALIZATION that we have more gifts than just our fives senses and nobody told us about them! They certainly didn't teach this in school!

THE UNSOLVED MYSTERIES OF OUR MIND

-We do not live inside of the world, the world lives inside each and everyone of us-

And yet the story continues because I’m still on this magnificent mysterious journey! I’ve always sensed that everything exists interconnectedly but for some reason until recently, I really couldn’t explain how.

I’ve always been curious about the mind, body and soul connection which bears striking similiarities to the trinity: 'The father, the son and the holy spirit' or more modernly known as: science, religion and spirituality; And I strongly believe that for the very reason this whole knowledge would present, information about the nature of our true reality, we've watched them fight it out, disrespect, distance themselves and debunk each other for years because it is this exact formula which bears such profound truths, truths that could prove more knowledge than our human brains could rationalize .

Like three sisters they even spy on each other for tips and secrets because they know whether they choose to admit it publicly or not that on some more profoundly intrinsic level, each of them hold elements of universal truths.

Perhaps so many mysteries have yet to be unveiled because of the dual nature or division which has co-existed between these three bickering sisters for far too long! To be honest, until these three align with a sincere and common interest to serve and protect humanities right to consciously seek evolution and expand our true nature of our divine all knowingess, we won't be able to finally understand what we are fighting for or why so much turmoil has continued to exist within our very planet.

On one hand we have religion denying anything remotely similar to science and on the other you have many people within the scientific community doing everything they can to distance themselves away from spiritualist who have valauble information yet tend to be generalized as 'wackos' by the benumbed masses.

However, now for the first time ever due to the spread of freely shared technological advancements, the three bickering sisters: science, religion and spirituality, or 'The father, the son and the holy spirit' are finally merging and forming a deeper understanding of what it really means to be human or at least dropping more clues about lost, forgotten or hidden information!

WHERE DOES QUANTUAM, ESP AND OTHER HUMAN PHENOMENON LIVE?

-Humans are the only species on this planet who have the actual choice and power to act on consciously evolution-

Well, just like the tip of the iceberg which is our conscious mind,  90% of our actual capabilities are still submerged within the subconscious mind or infinite remembrance and perhaps, just perhaps because I started meditating at 5 years old (many kids and adults have extraordinary senses open up who are not even vaguely interested in meditation) I’ve grown used to asking new questions about the unknown. And maybe that’s what we should be doing more of, consciously choosing to expand our infinite awareness because it is our primary birthright as souls having a human experience and it's the key factor which differentiates civilized human capabilities from the animal kingdom.

PART II

How Could I be Here and There at The Same Time?

-Within fragments of duality we can only glimpse pieces and traces of what our five senses percieve but our unified whole self, the self that knows eternal life sees everything happening all at once, just like a giant infinite orchestra playing a riveting masterpiece!-

Although the universe is said to be 13.77 billions years old, we still live on a planet where most people would prefer to see things tangibly before they can believe them. The problem with that stance is that if we wait until we see everything before we can have a healthy sense of wonder, we'll  be physically dead by the time science can actually catch up and prove it!

So what’s should you do when something extraordinary occurs and you can't seem the find the answers you need? What do you do if something happens to you that they just didn't teach in school? I found myself asking that exact question and many more one afternoon after a painful incident which occurred in my garden office in Madrid, Spain.

It’s was definitely one the most strangely interesting events that took place in my life and it left me stupified in awe and curiously full of wonder! While tidying up my school’s files, I happened to bang the innermost  part of my knee against the outermost edge of a wooden garden bench I had backed up against an office wall.
Feeling dizzy, overwhelmed and in excruciating mind numbing pain, I grabbed my knee, cried for my husband and collapsed into a heap the floor.

All of a sudden, without warning everything I knew turned black and the next time I opened my eyes my I saw my husband sitting on the same wooden bench I originally hit my knee against, calmly asking me what had happened. He then pulled me up next to him where I sat down and began explaining everything.

Where was I?

When I opened my eyes I found myself laying on the hardwood floor and as I began lifting myself up, I simultaneuously began explaining to my husband how I'd hit my knee against the bench and fainted. I thought it was odd that he would have a slight smirk on his face, almost quite skeptical. All of  a sudden, everything around me began vibrating and I began to feel as if something was pulling me by my arm.

When I had a chance to see what was  happening I realized I was being sucked into a beautifully multi-colored swirling portal where I could actually see swirling masses of colors moving in a clockwise direction but before I could hear myself scream, reach out or do anything at all I was sucked in. When I regained consciousness once again, I found my husband kneeling in front of me this time, instead of sitting on the bench.

We were still in the same room but this time he had a compassionate worried expression instead of a skeptical smirk on his face but the strangest thing of all was that he was asking me the exact same question he had asked one moment before: ‘What happened’?

What Happened?

It wasn’t until my husband began asking me what had happened the second time, that I began to ask myself where was I really? Where was that exact duplicate 'reality' I was just in? and why was he asking me the same thing twice? Getting up groggily, confused and now irratated, I mumbled: "Why do you keep asking me what happened? I just told you what happened."

That's when I began to notice immediately that there were two things which were different.

For starters, the first time I passed out from the pain of hitting my knee, which in my mind was the original time or 'reality', I fell straight away to the floor and collapsed. However when I regained consciousness, I found my husband sitting down on the left hand side of me on the wooden bench staring down at me calmly smirking.

Yet whilst in the middle of explaining what had happened, I found myself being sucked into a swirling multicolored portal which seemingly captured all sound and light and even my very essence in a very fluid like manner.

The next time I regained consciousness, I found my husband paradoxically kneeling on my right hand side with a bucket of water his hand, looking totally compassionate, not at all with that smirk on his face.
Both realities looked and felt the exact same except in each reality my husband was in a completely different position and had a completely different persona.

After my husband shook me back into this time and space reality and dosed me with a bucket of water, the reality I'm now writing you from, I explained to him how I had just been talking to him and that it all just didn’t make any sense!

How could I have had a conversation minutes earlier with him while he sat on the bench and later reawakened with him kneeling before me looking very concerned? Where did I go during the time and why did everything in the other time space reality look exactly the same? And why didn't he remember the conversation we had just had moments earlier?  He was right there with me afterall!

If it wasn’t real, then why was my husband in the other reality having a conversation with me? He looked and everything else looked and felt solid and just as real as this reality. And why did my world began to vibrate violently when he brought me back to consciousness with the water? The one where the whole incident originally began?

Most of  you probably think that parallel realities are pure entertainment but I’ve actually physically, if you can call this physical, gone into one and I was sober as the light of day.

CAN CONSCIOUSNESS BE SPLIT?

What would have happened if I never came back to my original reality? Since then, So many other amazing and unexplicable events have occured in my space and time reality. I  don't want anyone to believe in what I'm saying but I do want humanity to start questioning the true nature of what we perecieve to be real.

Would I have kept living in other reality if I had not been consciously brought back to this reality by my husband with the bucket of water? Every since that occurrence, I’ve been left wondering what might have happened if my husband didn’t help me regain consciousness. Woud I have gone on living life as if nothing out of the ordinary had happened? How would I have known?

My husband's immediate response was that he would have died inside and my response back to him was "Well that’s strange because I still would have been with you anyway." Perplexed by how he and I could be in two places at once and also by the fact that he genuinely didn’t see to know anything about the other time and space reality only left me with even more questions.

How would I have ever known that I had a personal first-hand experience with quantum realities, if I didn’t regain consciousness and enter back into this present time space reality? How? I wouldn't.

When I found myself in the other reality, which we can call the 2nd reality for sake of sanity and clarity, everything seemed just as tangibly real as the first one where I had original hit my leg, where we are now.

Would I have gone back to rummaging through the file cabinets in the 2nd reality had I stayed?

How would I have even known that I had just left the 1st reality?

Would I realize that I had crossed into another time/space dimension? Knowing myself, I would have to answer and say no.

If I hadn’t been shaken back to the 1st reality, this one, in the here and now, I wouldn’t have even realized any real difference since everything in the 2nd reality looked and felt the same. I wouldn’t have realized that I had even crossed over to another parallel reality!

What’s your take on this? Have you had a similar experience that was incredibly unexplainable? Please feel free to stop by and share your thoughts, I would love to learn more pieces to this amazing adventurous mysteries puzzle called life!

Lastly, this weeks blog is dedicated to two people I admire so much! 'Albert Einstein' whose views peaked my interest out of the ordinary and into the extraordinary and also to 'Denise Linn' who helped me gather the courage to publish this article which I sat on for 6 months due to fear of what people might think do or say. If it were not for your show 'Shamanic Travel' this week Denise, this article might have been hidden another 6 months!Thank you!Thank you! Thank you!

Remedy for Spiritual Vampires & Bullys

Remedy for Spiritual Vampires & Bullys
By Sharice D. Harris
Nov. 7th, 2012
No one can ever take away your divine inner essence but you can give it away by allowing energetic vampires freedom to lurk around in your life- Sharice Harris

They can be physically, emotionally or verbally abusive or they can taunt, smirk, sneer and laugh at you for opening up and speaking your mind lovingly. They are called: ‘Spiritual Bully’s’ because they see Love and optimism as signs of weakness and they often attach themselves to people who do Love in order to get more energy.

These energies/persons usually in some form of authoritative position are petrified of being judged themselves, so instead of being judge they often choose to play the judge themselves and when they do, they will usually drain any source of inner beauty and optimism they can.

They are often your boss, your parents, your spouse, your mother-in-law, your siblings. They are often those that are the closest to you or people that you come into frequent contact with.

Believe it or not ‘Spiritual Bully’s’ even lurk in self-help/personal growth groups. They call themselves realist and you can spot them quite easily because they never come around to say anything good but they are always on time when they feel like you made a mistake or whenever they find an opening to ridicule or spread their cynicism.

Here are some signs that a Spiritual Bully is draining your energy:

1.) You feel tired, drained and unmotivated to wake-up and live your passions.

2.) You have an odd mental chatter, which I refer to as thinking from more than one mind.

3.) You feel scared, uncertain , indecisive or insecure about sharing what you’ve learned from your own life because you’ve been thinking and listening to more that one mind, usually the Spiritual Bully’s mind which taughts, nags and drains.

4.) You've been exposed to indirect comments that are rude and draining in nature and even though they would like you to think that that person who sends out the draining energy was talking about someone else, your intuitive self keeps telling you that they are talking about you and you can sense that in some way that their putting you down seems to motivate and empower them.
If you feel any of the above, then you are most likely being drained by a Spiritual Bully. Here are a couple of steps you can do to take your power back!
1.) Cut Them Off A.S.A.P.

This is often a very hard task for people who are really loving because we really like to give everyone the benefit of the doubt but the truth is that you can see whose giving and whose taking by the way they interact with you and others. I’ve seen so many positively loving good people get the life sucked out of them because simply they don’t want to be rude or hurtful! If you find yourself faced with this scenario or a similar one, ask yourself the following:

“What's more important to me? What I think and feel or what someone else thinks and feels about me? Would I rather risk loosing that person who's draining my essential life force or would I rather loose my natural zeal and excitement for life?”

If you cut-off a spiritual bully they will be forced to look at themselves and that’s something they’ve been avoiding for a long time now! They will most likely move onto the next weakest ‘nice person’ they feel they can find.

2.) Inspire Yourself!

Every thing we experience even crossing paths with energy vampires/bullys is all a learning lesson toward wisdom! Before we can inspire anyone else, we must first call our power back and learn how-to rise above lower level energies that drain and take, take, take. It’s easy to be a giver instead of taker but in order to do so, we must foremost learn how-to feed our soul’s purpose! Fill your divine cup or body up everyday with genuine feel good inspiration! The kind tof positive Love and light that helps you transcends lower level thinking such as doubt and fear. In order for this to work you should commit to least a minumum of 15-30 minutes day. You owe it to yourself!

3.) Transform that Vampish Energy!

You heard me! This is the fun and transformational part of taking your power back! Take that very same vampish/bully energy that caused you so much confusion and loss of energy and turn it into spiritual fuel you can use! That’s what light workers like Jesus and Buddha did and that’s one of the lessons they came to teach us! That’s also why they always were shrouded in light. Light workers attract these troubled souls, mainly because troubled souls really do get sick of being around themselves. To start the transformational process, follow the steps above but more importantly start expressing your authenticity in whatever unique form it is! If it’s writing about your favorite subject: Write! If it’s dancing: Dance an ensemble that expresses what you went through! If it’s singing: Sing about how you overcame that drainage. If it’s giving Love and inner peace, revel in being around soul’s that emanate and RECIPROCATE that inner peace and Love! These spiritual vampires/bullys would like for you to believe that everything you are doing is a hopeless waste of time and that your really off course but the truth is that your transforming that draining energy into inspiration will inspire someone else you meet down the road in life! So at the end even coming across them was never REALLY a waste of time. Just another lesson learnt!

Lastly, if you stick the 3 steps above, You’ll notice that the people who are left around you are also inspiring givers! You will be steeped in inspiration naturally and spread Love and compassion easily.
Remember spiritual vampires stick to habitual safe zones with other lower level energies that also take, take, take, that's where they can safely rant, taunt, rave, ridicule and degrade openly and freely. They can’t touch the what’s in the light and expressing yourself in the light of Love is your birthright!
It’s actually your very reason for being and anyone who makes you feel less than doesn’t contribute to your true loving divine purpose!

Why not start early and make this ‘2013’ New Year a restorative year? Why not surround yourself with beings who also Love easily and live in the light of Love? Resolve to Allow Yourself to Live, Love and Be As Happy As You Want! Choose to live a Life that You See Fit! If you don’t, who else will live your life for you?

THE NINE BILLION NAMES OF GOD

THE NINE BILLION NAMES OF GOD

I sense you in each star and in every sunrise. I feel you in the grass and the cool breeze that flows through the trees. I feel your strength and power in your mountains and your ease which flows through each river and down every stream. I see you looking back at me in every living animal and every living being. I see you playing with us and hiding behind the infinity of the ten thousand things!
- Sharice Harris

While doing some research the other day, I came across a fictional story by an Author named Arthur C. Clarke. The story entitled: “The Nine Billion Names of God”, (published in 1953) was about a Tibetan monastery whose monks sought to list every imaginable name of God. They believed that the universe was solely created in order for us to name all of God’s names and they believed that once they had completed discovering all of God’s names that the stars would flicker out like lights being turned off and that universe as we know it would come to an end.

The monks set out to work using what was considered back then modern technology. They created a machine that could precisely calculate and encode every possible name of God imaginable. It was an arduous task which took some time but after they had finished naming every possible name of God, the stars did indeed began to flicker off and the world as they knew it, nostalgically began to come to an end.

As I heard about that story, I couldn’t help but feel that there was some truth in that fictional tale. I mean through the infinite throws in life, each and every one of us experiences day in and day out, at the end of it all, it’s all a cry or yearning to know even deeper depths of God or Love.

Whether we want to admit it or not, we don’t have it all figured out by a certain age because we don’t how God or Love is going to use us to complete our story in this lifetime.

Sure, we can use our five senses with the help of our heart, gut and soul to tell when something doesn’t feel right or if something is missing in our lives but very few of us can actually tell where our personal life story will lead us because we are all being used in a story that is for the greater good of all of us. Some of us live our whole lives playing a game of cat and mouse with our relationships and even with our lives, while some of us choose to project our image of God’s Love onto others even in the midst of our own searching.

We are all students in life, sharing what we know and sizing up what we think someone else does or does not know because we know on a deeper level that God comes in countless forms! God is often so undetectable to our five senses that we barely notice that we are immersed in God right now.

Do you realize that most people don’t realize that God is not on the outside but that we are actually inside of God right now?

We are living in God right now. What we consider as discovering God, is only God’s unfolding and disseminating of information to us. Have you ever wondered why information that you really needed at a particular point in your life wasn’t revealed to you when you felt like you really needed it the most?

It’s because we are being created right now through every experience we have.

A while back while rummaging through some of Marc Allen’s videos on Youtube, I came across a newly published author and Buddhist monk named Shyalpa Tenzin Rinpoche. Shyalpa, had just published his new book entitled: ‘Living Fully, Finding Joy in Every Breath’, with New World Library and he wanted to share some of his ancient Eastern wisdom with Marc and us in that interview.

Out of everything Shyalpa said, and he said a lot of very truthful and factual information which many of us overlook when looking for guidance and wisdom. One thing in particular stood out to me.

Shyalpa said that Buddha was able to reach Nirvana because he was a born to a king and unlike many of us didn’t need to strive for money, since he was born into a wealthy family.

At that moment I was reminded of how even something as seemingly superficial as running in the rat race after money, is also a cry for God’s mercy and Grace. Tears came to my eyes as I reflected on how many of us spend countless numbers of hours each week sacrificing precious time we will never get back.

Not because we Love money and are uber materialistic beings but because money if obtained in conjunction with our highest life expression, allows us to live a life which glorifies the Isness of life.

When I saw life through these lens, I realized instantly how incredibly and lovingly committed most people really are to this journey called life. We will do everything we can to reach a means to spend more time freely glorifying God.

-We are all Love at the core of our creation-

We know that in the attainment of our goals lyes our ability to finally help ourselves and others!

At the end it’s all Love or God! No one person can ever claim that they and only they hold the truth or the way exclusively to God. In doing so, we limit God’s infinite intelligence and wreak havoc on our planet and it’s people by becoming closed off in rigid belief systems.

Muslims have always believed that God has 99 names and many of them, out of devotion and Love to a greater power that is, spend much time reciting and  affirming those 99 names of God.

Hindus’ believe in many God’s but at the only one at the end. Why? Because at the central point of it all, God is present in billions of forms and billions of ways! Is our search to label God and tie him/her down a true search for God?

Doesn’t God come to us in countless forms?

And isn’t everything we see in nature and within humanity living proof of that? Wouldn’t it be easier to just wake-up and realize that we are living in a dream called creation?

What if we are not searching for God’s name but instead searching for God’s Love within each other?

What if we are the nine billion names of God?

So far we’ve got 7 billion answers inhabiting our planet, looks like we’ve only got another 2 billion to go!

Thanks for stopping by! What personal life experiences has God used you to teach a lesson or lessons through? How have you discovered that infinite inner peace and knowingness that simply is? I would Love to hear God's voice speak through your life!

Getting To the Heart of Religion

Getting To the Heart of Religion

-One should never take anyone at face value. It is what lies deep within a persons heart that makes up the fabric of their soul-

I recently got into one of those gut wrenching dreaded conversations with a close relative of mine who mentioned that they would appreciate it if I mentioned Jesus more in my work.

Now religion and politics are usually two topics I generally steer way from. Why? Because left to their own vices, those two have proven to start more wars, kill, conquer and divide more people than anything else I’ve ever witnessed before. Plus with overly religious people constantly telling me that I’m serving the devil for simply speaking my mind and my own truth, going into one of these theological conversations more often that not leaves everyone frustrated if we go in blaming and name calling like a bunch of five year olds.

We’ve all seen how entire people and their nations have been wiped out in the name of religion and even when we go back to the birth of Christianity, we find that millions of people were forced to convert or be killed; Let’s be honest, Christianity didn’t start off on loving grounds or even with basic compassionate humanitarian rights in mind.

So how can something that started off so with so many sinister intentions, pain, tears and bloodshed lead to enlightenment?

Now, don’t get me wrong, I’ve always loved Christianity and it has especially helped me slow down as a young teen who was acting out from abuse I had experienced during my early childhood; But one thing I could never understand and I’ve asked many Christians preachers about is: “Why is the Christian God such an angry God?”. If he is all powerful why does he need to damn someone to hell to prove his point? Why is he a jealous God? And how could being a jealous God be a good thing? Wouldn’t sending a soul to Hell for eternity be counteractive? I mean how could spending an eternity in Hell actually help change the energetic vibration of a soul? Wouldn’t that soul be even more damaged and enraged? And how could Christianity be God’s only way of communicating with us?

Does that mean that everyone else is wrong and does that mean that if you were born in some small town in India where no one has even heard about Jesus, that we would all be doomed to go to Hell too? It is my knowing and belief that we are all connected directly to God and I believe that having a relationship with God, is a spiritual and sacred experience which is too often commercialized. When we close ourselves off from being able to simply hear others out and really open our minds to try to understand their point of view, we really miss out on juicy invaluable information that could have lead us to even deeper levels of Love or God.

I  mean how can anyone person judge a book by it’s cover until you know the contents of it’s soul?

Reflecting back on my upbringing, excursions with my mother to the Synagogue and the Mosque were frequent occurrences, we would even study Buddhism and read the Tao daily. We sincerely loved learning about these ancient wisdoms through their text and were Thankful that someone had actually taken the time to personally write them down! Coming up with the freedom to practice and study what harmonized within my soul rather than focusing and following what people on the outside told me I should or shouldn’t follow encouraged me to use my mind subjectively.

However there was one particular person who really helped me open up my heart at a young age and not jump on the damnation train was my late grandfather. Soon before he passed away we had a meaningful heart-to-heart moment which I will never forget. After giving me one of his signature sloppy granddad kisses on the cheek which everyone in my family frequently had a conversation about, this man, who was a devote Muslim, looked into my eyes and said :

"Grandbaby, I don’t care about what religion you follow, you could follow any religion, change religions as much as you want, I really don’t care because I know your heart”.

Those words coming from him meant so much to me. He was a man who put his community first, gave selflessly of his time to teens who came from dysfunctional homes, helped other families children go to university and sat studiously for hours mentoring kids who never had a father figure. Yet according to many religious Christians the fact that he didn’t follow the bible, meant he went to Hell. Maybe it was the fact that he was so different as a younger man, this same man had been outraged when he found out my mother was pregnant by someone from another race and I saw it in his eyes that he had lived to regret how limited beliefs had separated so many well meaning hearts.

Nevertheless, despite making mistakes, that day he turned to me and for the first time ever put Love before religion.

My grandfather made his peace before passing and if there is anything that I’ve learned from living in the line of being different is that nothing should separate us so much that we stop seeing each other from our hearts perspective.

What would the world be like if we didn’t have religion dividing us? I would really enjoy hearing from you!

Does Clothes Really Make The Man?

Does Clothes Really Make The Man?
By Sharice Harris

Content makes poor men rich; discontent makes rich men poor.
- Benjamin Franklin

Years ago on a trip to Burma, something simply extraordinary happened in my life. In the midst of abject poverty, the kind that exists whether there is an economic crisis or not, I experienced a rare phenomenon that many of us in western society deem impossible without money.

Absolute Contentment.

As I walked through the dirt roads filled with shoddy shacks I couldn’t help but noticing how happy the towns people were who lived there.

Clothe in plain woven fabrics the men beamed from ear to ear while local women cheerfully shared humorous familiar stories. Although I had grown up in conditions that weren’t far from these back in the U.S., it hit me that I’d never come across poverty stricken people who genuinely seemed contently happy with the cards life had given them.

Why were these Burmese people so content? According to the news they had absolutely no reason to be this happy. Had they accepted and made peace with their lot in life? Had they given up on the fight for a better life or did they find out something about life that most of us are still searching for? Had they realized the meaning of life?

Uncovering the Gift of Gratitude in the Midst of Distraction

In western society we face so many momentarily distractions, many of which block us from realizing that we already have everything we need. According to a study held by PBS the majority of Americans who claim to be ‘very happy’ reached it’s peak in 1957. That same study went on to reveal that our happiness has been on fairly steady decline since 1957.

However, why would we be so unfulfilled and so unhappy, when according to ‘The Huffington Post’ we are one of the richest countries in the world? Is having more than most people worldwide simply a distraction which keeps us from appreciating all that life, all that this planet has actually gifted us?

I mean wouldn’t having more naturally constitute as being better?

Now I know that some of you are going to disagree with me and that’s fine you are entitled to your opinion just as I’m mine. Hey, from my perspective we are all pieces in this puzzle and each one has his or hers perspective for a very specific reason. I talk more about this subject in my book: ‘A Permanent Summer’

What I saw, felt and experienced in Burma, was evidence that the more society seems to have the more it’s people to complain. As I watched children curled up and sleeping alongside hard dirt roads with no pillows, sheets or comfy mattresses, I couldn’t help but think about how children back home in the U.S. and Europe would have made an all out fuss over not receiving the latest PS3 or Nintendo Wii for X-mas.

Why and how could such a tremendous gap of extreme basic human rights and inequality exist on such a small planet? How can we share the same air, share the same basic needs yet overlook the fact that every day we have EXACTLY what it is we need.

While we complain about the economic crisis, people in Burma and most countries in the world have never ever experienced any type of financial growth. I once heard a Spanish man say to a man from Guyana that Spain was experiencing a ‘crisis’, only to hear the Guyanese man say. Oh really? Then my country has been in a crisis forever.

According to Global Issues, more than 80% of people worldwide still live in complete abject poverty. They have always been living with less, yet they are happier.

Perhaps if we could focus on everything that we do have, if we could just make a list of everything, no matter how tiny or miniscule they may seem, then perhaps we could come to the awareness that we really have been incredibly blessed with more than we need.

In most of western society, no matter which social class we come from, no matter how lowly and hard our past may have been, we can leave those stories in the past and be thankful that we have the opportunity to grow and that we have the opportunity to share that growth with the rest of humanity.

The economic crisis may have required that we downsize our supersized lifestyles but in the process of it’s occurrence, I’ve personally come to realize that everything that truly matters could never be bought anyway.

My Ode to 2011

By Sharice Harris

“Let us move into the New Year with Dignity and Grace as we learn to accept how bitter sweet letting go of the past can be.”

As another cycle of precious time comes to a closing, we now find that we are faced with two choices: To gracefully move forward or to hold onto what could or should have been.

Walking along the soft and billowy sea shore, I spent the last few days of 2011 reflecting back on all of the profound changes which occurred and it was during my silent moment of reflection that it dawned on me that I had fallen in love with this year.

For me 2011 was a year of living miracles which seemed to flow into my life on a weekly basis and as I looked back feeling gratitude well up in my eyes, I couldn’t help but ask life: "What can I give back to you that is as great as what you have given me?"

That’s when I heard the words: 'Live everyday of your life in Mindful Thankfulness'. So, I gave back to life what I could, a list of reasons why I was and am so Thankful. I sat down on the shoreline, watched the waves rush in and poured out innumerable reasons. When I was done writing them all down, I picked up a piece of bamboo lying nearby and wrote in the sand one of my favorite affirmations by Louise L. Hay: “I forgive and totally release the past and all past experiences, and I am free.” No sooner had I finished writing the last letter, a wave came and swept my words away.

-Making New Year Resolutions Which Make Your Soul Smile-

If you are like most people, you may fall into the habit of making New Year Resolutions that you know you will never keep. Most of our New Year Resolutions often fall short simply because many of them are not soul based resolutions. To welcome the New Year with the Love and Respect it deserves, I decided to keep it simple, sweet and to stick to promises I know I can keep. So I came up with 3 New Year Resolutions that I know will bring greater Love into my life and positively affect the world around me!

My New Year Resolution List

1.) This New Year I will Enjoy as many Sunrises and Sunsets as possible!

The Natural Phenomenon of Sunrises:

If you are going through a particularly low energetic phase, you might want to make one of your New Year Resolutions to enjoy as many sunrises and sunsets as possible! Why? Because sunrises energize our soul's higher purpose in life, which is to live in harmony. Each day when the sun rises it carries within it a wise agenda that vibrationally and positively infuses our day with the unified and loving guidance we seek. Those who prioritize a mindful connection between themselves and life first are often pleasantly surprised to find out how much more energy life graces them with and how much more they get done! Meeting a sunrise is a very personal way of connecting with all of life and moreover it directly tells life that you are excited and Thankful for being able to live another day!

The Beautiful Strength of Sunsets:

This year there will be good days, great days, fantastic days and then there will be days when you reflect back on all of the above. Without this delicate fluctuation in life, we would never know what a great day was! Making impossible New Year Resolutions like this year is going to be better than the last year often puts you in a position of 'hoping' rather than knowing. However, I have discovered as many of you have, that there is a peaceful soothing strength at sunsets which allow us to sigh and make it through the toughest of times. If you find yourself in an uncomfortable position which you would rather not be in, mindfully allow yourself to give those feelings to the sunset. Sunsets have a powerful way of easing us into the wisdom that those times too will pass.

2.) Laugh More!

On my way back home from the sea, I decided to take a small path along the riverside and that's when I spotted a school of ducks leisurely wade by, honking in what seemed to be a comical tone! And it was during that moment that I couldn’t help but join in on the fun! Now to most people the sight of a lone woman laughing at a group of honking ducks strolling by might seem a bit odd but I couldn't help it, those ducks were funny! And that’s when I came up with New Year Resolution # 2

Now if you are wondering how any of these New Year Resolutions correspond to earning more money or even finding the love of your life, try looking at them from your soul’s perspective. You can’t take money with you when you die right? And when you pass away you are nearly guaranteed to exit by yourself. So what is really important? What is it all about?

When we stop forcing our desired material outcomes to occur, life has an incredibly powerful way of miraculously gifting us with exactly what we want and need. When we appreciate as many moments as possible and genuinely enjoy what life has given us thus far, we revel in how beautiful our Earth already is and occasionally you even try to mimic it! Remember the saying that the highest form of flattery is imitation? Well, that led me to my New Year Resolution # 3

3.) Romance!

Come on! Don't be surprised! It's everywhere in nature! That's why I get so confused when I hear that someone is looking to experience it with another person. O.k., now when most people think of romance it usually involves someone else, but did you know that you can experience romance anywhere at anytime? It's true! I have had more romantic experiences by myself than with any partner and to be honest, being in Love with life makes you a more attractive person and it enhances your relationship with your significant other. Our first relationship is with life and since romance is based on fondness and intimacy, we are capable of achieving a high level of romance anytime we choose to appreciate our present moments! Whatever they may be! When we live in the present moment, we come to see how beautifully perfect everything around us already is. And it doesn't matter who you are or where you live, everyone is capable of falling in Love with their life.

So fellow soul travelers! What are your New Year Resolutions? And why did you choose them? How do you feel they will improve the story of your life? :) I would LOVE to hear from you!

Wishing ALL of you beautiful souls a "HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!"

A Time Of Spiritual Rebirth

-Unity consciousness is at it's highest peak during the Christmas season because it is an extraordinary time of self-love, acceptance and forgiveness of ourselves and others. -

For most of us Christmas is one of the most challenging times of the year, because it's a time, whether we are consciously aware of it not, when we undergo a huge inner spiritual cleansing and life transformation.

It's not uncommon during this time of year to deeply reflect on what we feel we have or haven't accomplished in our lives and for many of us, we can often feel overstretched, unaccomplished and underappreciated because it is a time when we check -in and grade our overall personal growth.

But Christmas is not about scrutinizing how much you do or don't have in your bank account, who you do or don't have in your life and it's definitely not about becoming an ultra-consumer.

Christmas is about accepting and loving who you are right now and honoring your personal journey.

It is a time to forgive yourself and others and it's a time to embody the meaning of 'Christ' in Christmas, regardless of your personal beliefs or religion because the word:'Christ' translated simply means 'unity' or 'oneness'.

As students in life, we can choose to use this extraordinary time of the year to forgive past hurts. We can choose to focus on love and compassion and we can choose to allow ourselves to be truly thankful for the experience of life itself and the journey we have thus far been graced to live.

There is no greater gift that one can buy which is more precious than your life. Your life is the miracle of Christmas! It is the closing of one chapter in your story and literally the beginning of a new one.

So in this sense, Christmas is profoundly and powerfully magical because it's one of the only times during the year when we are forced to directly look at our perceived shortcomings and realize what truly matters to us the most. The gift of life itself.

Merry Christmas readers! And congratulations on accepting and respecting your personal journey through life this year!!!

Who’s Running Who?

Who’s Running Who?

“Whenever I climb I am followed by a Dog called ‘Ego’ -Friedrich Nietzche

Learning how-to love and accept ourselves at any given time is a never ending course in self-mastery. With the ever looming super-ego spouting out more than 3000 adverts filled with subconscious messages of what our life ‘should’ look like each day, finding our authentic thoughts and expressing our unique voice can often be an overwhelming, chaotic and for many an arduous task. The term ‘ego’ is literally derived from Latin and translated into English means ‘I’. So if ego means ‘I’, why do so many spiritual teachers want us to get rid of ourselves?

Have we turned into a self-abusive culture who has now turned on ourself? Many popular spiritual movements blame the ‘ego’ for nearly everything negative that occurs in our world but what most people rarely talk about is the fact that our ‘ego’ or ‘our physical self’ has the capability and the power to make those detrimental changes we spiritually yearn to see manifested into the physical form. By blaming the ‘ego’ for all of our problems, we are essentially doing nothing more than giving up responsibility by becoming victims of our own reality and creating an inner duality which can only be mended by accepting those aspects we like and do not like about ourselves.

The main problem seems to be that the ‘ego’ or again ‘self’ always gets a bad rap but the ego only has as much power as you give it. You could easily choose to operate from your soul as well as your heart.

- The ego only has as much power as you give it.-

So how do you sort through the heaps of mind garbage to find out what’s yours an what’s not? Well, the answer may be a lot easier than you may have previously thought, yet it is the hardest thing for most of us to do. Take responsibility of your mind. Three Simple Ways to Quiet Your Ego If you are a person who loves to live life to the fullest, you may fall into the awful habit of leaving your mind on overdrive. Do you constantly find yourself thinking of things you have to do in the future? Or reflecting back on what someone else did or said to wrong you in the past? If so you are loosing out on experiencing the present moment.

Below are a list of three life rules that I use whenever I notice that I living on ego overdrive.

1.)Go Back to Nature. The ego loves to make plans but hates spontanaiety. One way to take back your power is to spontaneously get into action by going for a walk or cycling in a natural setting. Sponataneous trips into nature allow your ego the rest it deserves after planning an plotting all day. A healthy ego can be very helpful when you see something that needs defiant change and take action to make that positive difference but if you don’t get into the habit of turning off your motor, you ego like any other engine can and will burn out.

2.) Meditation and/or Hypnosis. If it were up to the ego we would be busy trying to get a million things done a day. The problem with ‘trying’ to do everything is that we rarely get any one thing mindfully done. Active and daily meditative practices allow our mind a peaceful break from the busy traffic flow of the 70,000 thoughts our brain produces daily. Learning how-to calm our mind is a wonderful way to fully experience the present moment. Regular meditative practices not only give your mind a peaceful break but they also lead you to the deeper realization that we are all soul’s having a physical experience.

3.)Give.The third way most effective way to exercise your ego in a healthy manner is to give! Find a creative outlet to exercise opening up your heart and feeling more from your soul! There are so many children worldwide who would relish in having loving and positive mentoring, seniors who feed off the warmth of another caring soul and even your next door neighbor might need someone to relate to. You don’t have to look far to see that the people who need you to be balanced the most are usually right next to you.

When you open your heart to compassion your ego is automatically silenced and you fill a void which no material object can ever replace. Integrating these peaceful, compassionate loving and practical routines into your day will energize your spirit and reaffirm what really matters most to you on your journey through life.

Are You Tired of Being Taken for Granted?

Are You Tired of Being Taken for Granted?

“Sing like no one's listening, love like you've never been hurt, dance like nobody's watching, and live like its heaven on earth.”-Mark Twain

It happens every single day and whether we like it or not, we cannot control it. Other people’s unconscious inaction. How many times have you gave your all to someone you dearly care about, simply to discover that they don’t have the slightest intention of acknowledging your thoughtful actions? Well, we’ve all heard the old saying ‘You Get What You Give’.

So what happens when you find that you give more than you get? Do you on a confrontational raging hunt to get back all of the love, time and moreover energy you gave to those around you? Well you could and it might even make you feel better to put your 2 cents in. However, the love, time and effort you gave away was never really about others in the first place. Although we are collectively and subconsciously connected, we are all on an unique learning journey. Learning how-to discern other peoples lack of consciousness is sometimes the exact lesson we need to learn in our life.

When Jesus performed miracles and healed hundreds of sick people, only several people came back to say ‘Thank you’. Yet he did not throw in the towel and stop giving his love to others. Selfless giving isn’t going to be easy because it’s a virtuous art form. Giving your time, effort and patience was never really about anyone else anyhow. On the contrary, it has always been about you and your capacity to love and whether we like it or not, recognition and praise may not be the greater lessons which life intended for us to learn at those specific moments in our life. So, whenever you find yourself feeling like a used up rag doll, just remember that when you look in the mirror, life is always reflecting back the most important lesson you need to uncover.

That you have already found the selfless love you sought in the world.
